I have covered the history and meaning of the gay Rainbow Flag in a previous post.
This is a clever riff on the MAGA – Make American Great Again language used by President Trump to rally his supporters, ironically by implying that we are not a great country anymore, and of course, just short of saying only he can fix it. Couldn’t tell so far.
I think this is a great example of taking a phrase or symbol of something hateful and hated and turning it into something uplifting and yes, humorous at the same time. It’s sort of politics light to proclaim that the real meaning of MAGA is to Make American Gay Again!
